A Virtual Vacation
I don't know about you, but I love a spring clean this time of the year.
There's nothing more refreshing than clearing out the old and making space for a New Year.
But I guess you could call my clear out, more of a virtual 'Winter Clean,' than an actual spring one, because I dusted more cobwebs off my 'PC', than I did my home.
While chucking out the old, reorganising my files, and uploading new paintings, I came across some Artwork I'd forgot about. They brought back some distant memories and stirred up in me, a sense of wanderlust. Wouldn't it be nice to just get away right now?
Well, I doubt we'll be travelling very far any time soon.
Right now, the virtual world seems to be the only way to get away.
So why not take a trip through your own virtual porthole to The Travels Gallery?
I've just added a new page to this gallery on my website.
Some never seen before paintings and drawings of a trip to Thailand back in 2012.
When I first created these works, I didn't believe they were good enough to share.....
Although I was somewhat content with the Pen & Ink drawings, I didn't like the colour work at all.
Looking back now, I have no idea why!
I never appreciated their subtlety, (or brightness - 'The Robes').
But now, I see them in a new light. A more positive light.
I see these pieces with fresh eyes, like someone who has never travelled before and is seeing the world for the first time. Isn't it beautiful out there?
Maybe I had taken my freedom for granted.
Or maybe, the grass is just greener on the other side. Who Know?
One thing's for sure, I won't be stepping on anyone's grass for a while, so I better appreciate my own.
Thailand awaits you, (virtually!):
